Were currently searching for a full-time Staff Accountant to join us in State College, PA. The Staff Accountant plays an integral role in the Finance organization of Videon and will be engaged in many areas of the companys operations. The position will report to the Accounting Manager and will regularly engage with the Chief Financial Officer as well as various purchasing and inventory personnel.
Job responsibilities include traditional accounting functions as well as developing methods of tracking and accounting for the various costs associated with the development of Videon products. This will include the accumulation of labor, material, supply chain, and overhead costs for the purpose of building accurate standard costs and bills of material.
Given the unique cost components of the specialty high-tech products that Videon develops and manufactures, the Staff Accountant has the opportunity to significantly contribute to the ongoing profitability of the company.
Overview of
Responsibilities:
- Post month-end journal entries
- Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheets accounts
- Assist in year-end audit process
- Review accounts payable invoices and vouchers
- Assist with monthly financial statements and financial analysis
- Work closely with supply chain management and others to develop standard costs and to understand drivers of production variances
- Monitor price and production variances and provide timely analysis to management
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate material cost estimates
- Monitor, report and resolve inventory issues for Videons production facilities
- Monitor and research inventory transactions and reconcile inventory accounts
- Perform daily purchase order reporting
- Assist in the month-end inventory close process for the accounting system
- Assist management by providing analysis of financial information, as needed
- Assist in entering new cost centers into the accounting system
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in accounting, finance or related field
- Relevant experience in a cost accounting environment
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated, exceptional work ethic and energetic team player
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
