Responsibilities Include:
o Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop interdisciplinary care plans for patients according to the physicians' prescriptions.
o Combining different treatment modalities such as heat/cold therapy, electrical stimulation, ultrasound and exercise
o Teaching patients how to use devices such as crutches, wheelchairs or prostheses
o Helping patients stretch and exercise
o Applying traction, massage, paraffin baths and other modalities
o Provides client and family recommendations and referrals to appropriate health, educational, and vocational sources.
o Documents client evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with existing criteria. Organizes and participates in educational activities for clients, their families, and other health professionals.
o Schedules clients and records services rendered.
o Participates in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance programs.
o Participates in Care Conferences and Team Meetings and communicates with individual members of the interdisciplinary team concerning client treatment as necessary.
o Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participates in their resolution.
o Maintains the confidentiality of information pertaining to clients and their families. Discusses client information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.
o Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of clients and co-workers.
o Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading the appropriate literature and attending professional
